2023 Fingering Chart Template Fillable, Printable PDF

The first thing I did after purchasing my clarinet was to hit the library for a fingering chart. To my chagrin, I found complex charts encompassing the entire chromatic scale with non-intuitive key numbering systems and/or extraneous information for simple fingerings. I may have a Ph.D. in physics, but my poor, little brain was overloaded.

The rest is — you guessed it — practice. The key is VOICING. What's voicing? It's how you form the inside of your mouth (in particular your tongue) when you're playing any note.

Fingering #1 is the standard fingering for altissimo register C sharp and D flat. Notice that unlike most of the other altissimo notes, this fingering does not use the right hand pinky. Fingering #2 is primarily used for trilling between high C and C sharp. Fingering #3 is primarily for trilling between high B and C sharp.
